Back again. Minestrone soup with white truffles mediocre. Ate at the bar again. Impressively slow service on food delivery. Bouillabaisse not even ok-veggies fresh, broth not much more than tomato soup, seafood fishy, chewy, overdone. Maybe meat would be a better choice here. Overall, not a good experience tonight.

Came here on a recommendation to try their NY strip steak, and found a nightly special on a Rib Eye that sounded good. Wow, was it good. The sautéed golden beet was awesome, and great to hear locally grown. Great jen in downtown GJ. If you are looking for a nice place and great food along with good service come on by.

I wasn't sure what to expect, based on such mixed reviews on Yelp. But I have to say that I am a fan. We wanted someplace to hang out while the Farmer's Market was being set up. Originally, we were drawn to Le Rouge by the idea of eating outside. Too hot for me to enjoy that thought. So we went inside to the bar. I had seen a Facebook post from them about sharing a carafe of Sangria. Somehow that sounded good and refreshing. So we each ordered a glass (carafe sounded great - but we did want to get to the Farmer's Market!). I was delighted that the Sangria was made to order. Not sure what red wine was used - but the sangria included several blackberries and blueberries, a raspberry and an orange slice. This gave me a fruity but not sweet drink that was perfect for the hot afternoon. We also decided to split an order of mussels. I love mussels and, even though they seemed a bit pricey here, we thought they would be a great bar snack. OK, once we ordered them, we were brought a basket of really warm french bread with a lovely slice of unsalted butter. Heaven. And the basket was generous!! The mussels didn't come quickly - but it wasn't a long wait at all. And when they came out - it was a more than generous serving. And came with fries that were so crisp and greaseless. I cannot imagine having two orders for the two of us. The broth was light and full of seafood flavor. Great for dipping the bread and thank you for giving us a spoon, also! We had great service from the friendly bartenders. The dining room looked elegant and perfect for a celebratory meal. The lounge and bar areas were nicely decorated, but comfortable for a more casual meal. Another day, when it isn't so hot, I would opt to eat outside - a very nicely shaded area to view Main Street. I wish that they offered a real bar menu here. Lighter versions of dinner and/or an expanded appetizer list. I see this as a place to have a fun or classic cocktail or glass of wine and snack away. I also wish that they made a bigger deal about the daily specials - I didn't notice the blackboard until I was leaving. Sadly, the staff knew every client (except for us, on our first visit). To me, that means that they are not getting enough new people coming in. That is a shame, because this is a very tasty place and the service was just great.

My husband and I are here from Long Island to participate in Tour the Vineyards. We stumbled on this restaurant by chance. I had the Sea Bass and my husband had the steak frites. Best meal we had in a long time. Perfect including the friendly staff. Ended with Peach Melba. Five stars.

This place was a nice find right in the heart of Grand Junction. It's quaint and lives up to the piano bar atmosphere, complete with the covered patio seating. We had the calamari and escargot. I enjoyed the escargot, being my first time trying it. The calamari was heavily breaded, which didn't suit my taste. My boyfriend ordered the pot of mussels, which he enjoyed but it lacked a carb dish to go on the side, some bread with it would have been perfect for dipping in the broth it came in. I had the veggie pasta dish which was delicious! We would have stayed for dessert but there were Mosquitos trying to feast on us while seated in the patio. Overall, the food was wonderful, we would go back again.

Not a bad place to enjoy a meal. The scene is nice and well decorated and presented. The staff is friendly and they do a good job. My boyfriend and I enjoyed the snails as our appetizer. It wasn't anything spectacular but we were glad that we gave it a shot. We loved dipping the bread into the garlic butter that the snails came in, it was a delicious idea. For the entree I was rather disappointed in my meal. I ate the seafood pasta and the presentation of the meal looked like something that was just thrown together. The process of eating first begins with sight, and already I had lost my appetite. The green noodles were doughy and gross, and it came with with a cluster-f#%$ of seafood. It seemed like the chef must have been thinking "hmmm, what to put with this dish. How about everything?" There was no continuity with the dish, no real great flavor, and ultimately I ended up just tossing pretty much all of it. Salt, and taste, salt, and taste that's how my meal should have been prepared.

What an extraordinary dinner!!! From the moment we arrived (without a reservation) and were warmly greeted by the delightful hostess, we knew it would be a memorable experience. The vibrant yet relaxing ambiance, the top-notch attentive service, the wallet-friendly wine list, and the food ... oh the food ... delicious and beautifully presented, all contributed to a perfect dining experience. Le Rouge is an absolute MUST. Bon Appetit.

Great food, great company and a really enjoyable time. Ambience: The French owner has pulled out all stops for the most authentic French atmosphere in this place - right down to the outdoor seating which is ideal for a warm evening dining and people-watching. We went on a Saturday night when they had a really talented duo playing covers in a set that lasted 3 hours, non-stop! The volume level was just right so it didn't interrupt conversations. Service: Friendly and not pushy. A little distracted at times, but our guys were a little new. Food: Terrific. Very well designed menu that will have something for everyone. I had the scallops and ratatouille which was elegant and delicious. One of my friends had the French onion soup which was not the usual heavy, salty fare you get at most French restaurants. meanwhile the other had the duck which was perfectly cooked. The wine selection is great and the pours are generous. Price: A little on the high side but very reasonable for a high quality French restaurant. I will be going back next time I'm in GJ.

Great place to have a drink before you go somewhere else to eat. Their food is is the worst. Love the bartenders though. Jackie is the best!!

Great restaurant for such a small sleepy town. I had the special - Sea Bass and a goat cheese salad. And a great glass of French wine. Very unexpected. The reason I did not give it 5 stars is the fish was not cooked correctly. A little too done on outside and not on the

Absolutely Amazing food and amazing staff. I have traveled the world and this is one of the finest restaurants I have dined at. One of the staff members even had Sommelier training and was very knowledgeable on wines. The local clientele at the bar was also very charming and fun to get to know. It is very cozy. If you prize coziness like the Belgians, you will appreciate this venue. The cocktail area is also nice and very eclectic.

A Special experience and a rare place. Great ingredients crafted into a limited menu of thoughtful offerings in a warm and inviting space. An unexpected find in a sea of bland, if you eat anywhere in this city, then choose this spot. No disappointments.

Always enjoy my meals here. The steaks and seafood are always perfectly cooked. Good wine selection, good service, and a good bar to have a drink or dinner by yourself or with a friend.

It's as if someone is trying too hard to be authentic, the French onion soup was terrible and very small, the caesar salad had huge slabs of sardine and a poor dressing with it. The pasta and chicken were both prepared perfectly but not served as described on the menu. The cost is high and the flavor does not jive with my palate. I won't come back here.

Location was great. We were 8. Great staff & the atmosphere was fun. A 2 piece duet was on the patio. Food was good. My salad dressing a bit tart and one dimensional but the greens & endives fresh and crisp. The baby lambchops were tasty but just a tad rare, so it was chewy. The pomogrante sauce was terrific but it was not the original offering. Haricot Vert side was firm & sweet. My friends steak was med, a bit over cooked for him, believe it was sitting a while before it was brought to the table.Overall a good visit. Everyone seemed pleased with their selection.

Anything that was seafood was way past it's prime. For $300.00 for three people there are better options. The oysters were bad, the soup was supposed to have scallops and was so bad we sent it back and they did comp it. I'm My wife really wanted the Bouillabaisse but after the soup she shied away and settled on a salad. My salmon was not so fresh as well.

The French owner is really engaging and took the time to explain which entree's were gluten free and exactly how they were prepared. The atmosphere and food is always top notch. Some of the best dirty martini's in town. Don't miss it:)

My favorite spot in Grand Junction. Cute outdoor seating area. Love the ambiance. Music and lighting were perfect. We were there on a Friday night and the bartenders were the best out of everywhere we went. Super friendly and knowledgabe. I liked the fact that they carried a lot of local wines by the glass. Did not eat here, but the menu looked great. Will be back for sure next time we are in town.

We stopped in for dinner while passing through Grand Junction. This is a nice place to dine. Not spectacular, but enjoyable. We sat on the sidewalk outside and it was really pleasant except for the loud motorcycles going by every couple of minutes. Service was on the slow side, but super friendly. Our meal was good and the portions were reasonable, although the prices were pretty high - I was surprised at the check considering that we only drank water and didn't have dessert. All things considered an nice evening. I will be checking out some of the other restaurants in the area before we return to Le Rouge.

Very good food, especially the sauces. Very pleasant staff, owner on site. Wish they had a pasta dish without fish on the menu. Try the duck or venison. Good live music most nights. Quiet atmosphere.

Very classy environment, delicious cuisine, a decent wine list, great staff, etc. It's in no way an inexpensive destination, but one of the best places in town for an intimate dinner with your special someone. For late night, the vibe is reminiscent of a downtempo Los Angeles lounge on the west side. Excellent bar selection, and the bartenders are fast, and knowledgable. Love the crab cakes, and when they have the duck on the menu, you'd better order it. Best duck I've had in as long as I can remember.

Le Rouge Le Sucks. Sat down at the bar around 6:00. I know they were busy, and were struggling to keep up. But that was no excuse to virtually ignore me for the better part of 10 minutes. Once they acknowledged me, they took another 5 minutes or so to ask me what I wanted to drink. Let me be clear that both bartenders were very nice and courteous. After ordering a caesar salad, I waited for 10-15 minutes with room temperature bread (that had a decent flavor) and ICE COLD butter before it came out. When it arrived it was dry, and less than fresh, with past their prime anchovies on top. After giving up on it, and ordering the "kobe" burger I got something that would have made Sonic blush. It was mealy, and pale looking (not even sure it was beef) and about a quarter inch thick. I swear the thing was gray!! Did I mention that, although I ordered three martinis and a glass of wine I almost had to chase down the bartenders to get them? They were working as hard as they could, but they just didn't have what it takes to deal with the relatively small crowd, and seemed overwhelmed all night. So, after giving up on the bad salad and the bad burger, I sent half of each of them back to the kitchen unfinished. BTW: the wine smelled and tasted like they had started storing it in a shoe. About a week ago. Then, when I had to ask for my check and received it, I noticed that I had not been charged for one of my three martinis, I pointed this out to the bartender. Just because it's the right thing to do. Easy fix, right? Write it off. Nope. They freaking charged me for it. Way to reward your customer for being honest. Next time, the line is, "Thanks for being so honest. I'l buy this one for you because you were looking out for me." I don't want the 10 bucks I just want the class and professionalism to understand the situation. Don't have to worry about me, though. I won't be back.

A little Gem located downtown. The service was great. Very friendly. The food was excellent. The wine selection is extensive. The only complaint would be that there were several flies. Not pleasant.

Service was friendly but painfully slow. They are obviously understaffed. Food was good, not spectacular but good. The beef was cooked beautifully and hubby's escargot was great. Pork chop was overcooked. For the prices they really should have extraordinary food and service.

My girlfriend and I ended up finding this place nearby with the help of Yelp. We were going out to dinner but everything at the time was closing up. We were dressed up nicely and didn't want to waste the evening so we decided to try it out. It was too late to order any food but we had each had a drink and just a wonderful time. The interior is very upscale and classy, so we didn't feel out of place either! Also, it's one of the few places where their mixed drinks are properly balanced. My girlfriend ordered a raspberry and chocolate with raspberry liquor drink. It was so tasty and nothing too strong or too sweet, just enough alcohol mixed in. We both had a lot of fun there, I think we would definitely go back for another date night.

I'm a list person so here you go: 1. Sat at the bar as I usually do at any restaurant when I travel for work. 2. Acknowledged by bartender right away. Nice. 3. After ordering and receiving my glass of wine, I notice no piano is playing - advertised as M-Sun, 4pm-12am. No tunes for the two hours I was there. Only "music" was the table of drunken, foul-mouthed sailor wanna-be's. Was looking forward to the atmosphere a piano can bring after a day of dealing with furrowed brow raising situations with colleagues. (I *am* in an advertised piano bar, right? Check around...yup.). Oh well, not a big deal. Just an observation. I'll survive. 4. On to the waiting to order food. I waited. And waited. And waited some more to order. Moved my menu a bit, waited, asked bartender about the tuna...fell on deaf (very very focused elsewhere) ears. Waited some more. The one bartender was slammed with one very talkative customer sucking up her attention and training a new bartender. 5. Note to self, this will not be a good dining experience. 6. About....30 minutes later accompanied by concerted effort, I order sashimi tuna. 7. Not long after, beef carpaccio arrives. Ummmm...no thank you. Bartender readily admitted ordering the wrong item. 8. Shortly after, tuna sashimi arrives. First bite off the end slice. Yum in its delicious sauciness. Subsequent bites: still frozen in the middle. Nice. Not. 9. Was poured a half glass of wine for the mistake(s) then waited some more to get the lemon tart to go. Was not about to wait longer to get more food that may or may not be the right order or still frozen. 10. Eventually got the tart, it was mediocre at best. 11. Received the bill with both the original order of food and the carpaccio that was not ordered. 12. Additional observations: I believe the bartender was also responsible for the patio out front as many of these guests had to come to the bar to order, re-order and/or cash out. If it weren't for the perception that the bartender was overworked or the place was short staffed, they'd get only one star. I might try them again since its convenient to my hotel but I definitely will not be rushing back. One last furrowed brow before I call it a night. Sigh...
